KUANTAN, 3 Februari 2026 – Kebawah Duli Paduka Baginda Sultan Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah bertitah bahawa pelaksanaan Istiadat Menjunjung Duli mampu menghidupkan semula warisan tamadun istiadat Melayu yang menjadi asas kepada sistem Raja Melayu sejak ratusan tahun lamanya.

Paduka Baginda bertitah, dengan keberkatan Allah SWT, Negeri Pahang memiliki satu sistem pemerintahan beraja yang telah lama bertapak di bumi Pahang, bukan sekadar 10 atau 100 tahun, malah telah menjangkau 556 tahun pada tahun ini.

“Kesultanan Pahang bermula pada tahun 1470 bersamaan 891 Masihi dengan Sultan Muhammad Shah sebagai Sultan Pahang yang pertama, saya merupakan Sultan Pahang ke-34 sejak penubuhan institusi tersebut,” titah Paduka Baginda.

Menjawab persoalan mengenai tujuan Istiadat Menjunjung Duli, Paduka Baginda bertitah bahawa suatu masa dahulu istiadat berkenaan merupakan satu upacara tradisi di mana orang-orang besar dari seluruh pelusuk negeri, khususnya dari daerah-daerah jauh seperti Kuala Lipis dan Jerantut, datang menyembah sultan sebagai tanda taat setia dan penghormatan tertinggi kepada raja yang memerintah.

“Istiadat tersebut turut melibatkan persembahan buah tangan dan adat persembahan sebagaimana yang dapat disaksikan pada hari ini dan ia mencerminkan keunikan dan kehalusan adat istiadat Melayu,” titah Paduka Baginda.

Paduka Baginda turut menzahirkan rasa syukur kerana istiadat berkenaan dapat dilaksanakan dengan sempurna, serta menzahirkan penghargaan dan rasa terharu terhadap komitmen semua pihak yang terlibat, khususnya Kerabat-Kerabat Bergelar serta Orang-Orang Besar Negeri.

Paduka Baginda seterusnya menegaskan bahawa istiadat berkenaan perlu dihargai dalam kerangka sistem Raja Berperlembagaan, berlandaskan hukum syariah, hukum kanun, dan paling penting berpaksikan al-Quran dan sunnah sebagai asas pemerintahan. -KESULTANAN PAHANG

ISTIADAT MENJUNJUNG DULI REVIVES THE HERITAGE OF MALAY ROYAL CIVILISATION – HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE SULTAN OF PAHANG

KUANTAN, February 3, 2026 – His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, said that the conduct of the Istiadat Menjunjung Duli has the capacity to revive the heritage of Malay royal ceremonial civilisation, which has formed the foundation of the Malay Monarchy system for centuries.

His Royal Highness said that, by the grace of Allah SWT, the State of Pahang possesses a monarchical system that has long been firmly established on its soil, not merely for 10 or 100 years, but spanning 556 years as of this year.

“The Pahang Sultanate began in 1470, corresponding to 891 AD, with Sultan Muhammad Shah as the first Sultan of Pahang. I am the 34th Sultan of Pahang since the establishment of this institution,” His Royal Highness said.

Elaborating on the purpose of the Istiadat Menjunjung Duli, His Royal Highness said that in the past, the ceremony served as a traditional occasion during which state chiefs from across the state, particularly from distant districts such as Kuala Lipis and Jerantut, would come to pay homage to the Sultan as a symbol of loyalty and the highest form of respect to the reigning monarch.

“The ceremony also involved the presentation of offerings and customary performances as witnessed today, reflecting the uniqueness and refinement of Malay customs and traditions,” His Royal Highness said.

His Royal Highness expressed gratitude that the ceremony was carried out smoothly and successfully, and conveyed appreciation and deep emotion for the commitment shown by all parties involved, particularly the Titled Royal Family Members and the State Chiefs.

His Royal Highness further stressed that the Istiadat Menjunjung Duli must be appreciated within the framework of the Constitutional Monarchy, founded upon Islamic law, customary legal principles and, most importantly, grounded in the Quran and Sunnah as the basis of governance. -KESULTANAN PAHANG
